This was out 35 year reunion with the students of J J Cahill Memorial High School at Mascot, Sydney. It was such a great time in the rough and tumble years between 1975-1980. There was no political correctness where it was easy to choose teams on the paddock – it was invariably the ‘wogs’ vs the ‘aussies’.
No one committed suicide over bullying in them days. Everybody had their grouping of friends and allies and basically we all kept to ourselves. Nothing sinister. for a guy who arrived on the shores only four years earlier, I certainly didn’t feel victimised or alienated. The Greek boys were the life of the party and they were my best mates at school and outside.
After all the years it was so good to catch up once again.
